When the rainy season comes to FL, there are massive, billowy white clouds and the late afternoon sun and this bridge were the perfect setting to showcase them. Tropical Storm Debby

177/366 Tropical Storm Debby. iPhoto week. This week all my 366 photos will be processed in iPhoto. When there is a hurricane or tropical storm in Florida, the clouds are unusual in the you will see multiple layers of clouds, including puffy white ones against a brilliant blue sky and dark ominous black ones that are traveling quickly in a circular direction. Yesterday, it rained all day with the rain blowing in sheets. Today, there is flooding in low areas and very windy. Photo was sharpened, saturated, exposure adjusted and an art effect applied.

174/366 Ronald. Jazz Week. My employer Liberty Mutual is celebrating its 100th anniversary and to celebrate, they are giving back to the community. Yesterday and today, employees were encouraged to volunteer at local charities. I chose to volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House. We brought and fixed lunch for the families that are staying there. I wanted a pic of Ronald, but had to settle for this pic of a textured wall hanging. Photo was jazzed up in the Jazz app.

172/366 Branching Out. Jazz Week. B&W Wednesday. This banyan tree is a fig tree and is located at Bay Pines National Cemetery. The tree seeds germinate and send down roots towards the ground, and may envelop part of the host tree with their roots, giving them the casual name of "strangler fig." this B&W photo was taken with 645 Pro and apped up in the Jazz app.

164/366 Big Puffy Clouds. Instaweek. In Florida this time of year, it is the rainy season and, the clouds get very tall and puffy. I loved how these were towering between the palm trees. Shot was taken with Instagram with the Sutro filter applied and lux. Then I applied lux one more time to make the clouds pop.

They were arranged by The Arrangement Florist of Tampa. The photo had Lux and tilt-shift applied along with the Sierra filter.

162/366 Home on the Water. This pelican is quite content to make his home on the water and temporarily on this boat. The photo was taken with 645 Pro with the 6x9 back and C42 film. PhotoSlice HD was used to break the picture apart and create the framing.

Tintype Me

161/366 Tintype Me. Photojojo did an article on the Instagram blog about how to make digital tintypes. Photo taken in Instagram with tilt- shift applied near the eyes, the Inkwell filter for B&W and Lux to increase the contrast. Sierra filter was then applied to increase the warmth. In Picfx, the Olden filter was used to add scratch effects. Finally, the border was applied in Snapseed. I always thought I belonged in the 1800's.

156/366 Green Lib. This photo collage of palm frond was shot with the native iPhone camera. Two different photos from the original were created in Addlib. Then they were brought into Poly Frame for the framing. Finally, Scratchcam was used for the grunge effect.

Bird Bath

155/366 Bird Bath. This is a combination of two photos that were both taken with the native iPhone camera. The background photo is of a bird that was painted graffiti on a warehouse wall in Ybor City. The foreground photo is of a pool waterfall at the Vinoy Hotel in St. Pete. They were blended together in Superimpose using the darken only blending mode. Square cropping was done in PSExpress. The combined photo was imported into Iris Photo Studio to add polarizing filter, grunge and black frame.

Red Fahrvergnugen (driving enjoyment)

154/366 Red Ride. This photo of an old VW Bus was created using the Mane Effect from Mobitog.com. I believe the photo was taken with the Native iPhone camera. Next a B&W version was created in Snapseed with frame and detail applied. This version and the original version were then brought into Scratchcam to be grunged up. The color version was then opened in PhotoWizard to have texture, hue and a frame applied. Finally, both were brought into Superimpose for the final effect.
