St. Petersburg is known as the Sunshine City as it is rumored that the sun shines 365 days out of the year, which appears to be fairly accurate. The city's newspaper is the St. Pete Times, which is one of the top 10 newspapers in the country. This paper used to give out free newspapers on days when the sun did not shine. It is sad that daily print newspapers are declining. I miss the days when there were morning and evening newspapers. This statue, outside of a museum in St. Pete, reflects the days when young men would hawk newspapers by the side of the road; now they still do this with the Sunday newspaper. Photo was shot in the Camera+ app with auto scene and further post processing occured in PhotoToaster.
i still have a morning newspaper delivered, and it's the best part of the day...quiet time with a cup of coffee.
ReplyDeleteExcellent shot! Funny how we went from this to online editions.
ReplyDeleteNice one! :) Good old newspapers. Indeed, I also still love to feel the paper in my hands. :)
